Explanation of Spoof text


        I.                        Defenition of Spoof text
Mentioned in Cambrige Advance Learner’s Dictionary Online, there are two meanings of spoof text,
First, as a noun the meaning is “ a funny and silly piece of writing, music, theatre, etc. that copies the style of an original work.”
Being Second, Spoof as a verb meaning “to try to make someone believe in something that is not true as a joke.”
Spoof of the second meaning above, it can be concluded that the defenition of spoof text is a text that contains humor though most of the text has been modified from the original.

     II.                        Purpose Of Spoof Text
To tell a short story or event with a humorous twits. The stories are normal in the beginning and have a funny twist at the end that makes you laugh.

  III.                        Generict Structure of Spoof Text
1.     Orientation, provides an introduction to the caracteristic, setting etc.
2.     Events, provides even or event
3.     Twist, ending the story (the ending is considered funny, something unexpected)
A description of the orientation and the event is especially on the subject narrative text and recount text. In any spoof text, was not much different from the one in the narrative and recount.
Looking for a twist, for those not used to writing a humorous story may be very difficult to understand the twist was hard enough, let alone making up their own.

      IV.                   Language feature of Spoof text
1.     Focousing on people, animals, or certain things.
2.     Using actions verb ; ate, ran, etc
3.     Using adverb of time and place.
4.     Told in chronological order.
    V.                        Example of Spoof text
Once a man was walking in a park when he cross a penguin. He tookit to a policeman and said “ what should I do?” the policeman replied “ Take it to the zoo!”
The next day, the policeman saw the man in the policeman saw the manin the same park. The man was still carring the penguin. The policeman was rather surprised and walked up to the man and asked “ why are you still carring the penguin ? didn’n you take it to the zoo?” the man replied;” I certaily did. And it was a great idea because the penguin really enjoyed it. So, today I am taking it to movie”.

 VI.                        Generic Structure Analysis
Orientation; introducing participant “he” and Penguin. They were in the park.
Event1; the man tended to take the penguin to the park.
Event ; even, finally the man would take the penguin to the movies,
Language feature analysis focousing on certain parcipants: he, penguin, policeman
Using action verb; carry walk up
Using adverb of time and place; once, in the park
Told in chronological order; the next day
